Turkey Day Time-Lapse

This Thanksgiving we all got together at my dad's house and had a feast! It was great to just plop down at one spot all day and not have to bounce around like in the past. I'm so thankful we can all get along and have a blast! I recently borrowed a Go Pro 2 from my friends over at Feral Motion and thought I'd give the time-lapse feature a try. It was incredibly easy to use and the pictures are pretty high quality! I really wanna get one of these things. I downloaded "Time-Lapse" from the Mac App Store for $1.99 and stitched 2700 photos together. Then I dumped the movie file into Final Cut Pro where I was able to cut it a bit, add tunes/text and turn it to some good ol' black and white. Check out the video below and let me know what you think.

Enjoy the holiday weekend ya'll!

Greetings: Britta Folden

I present to you the first of an ongoing series I will be posting on my blog, "Greetings". Greetings is a way for me to connect you with local businesses, artists and just plain people you should know. So, all my readers out there (Dad, Mom and cats...) say "Greetings" to Britta Folden.

Britta is my recently discovered cousin. I didn't grow up with her and only met her for the first time last fall. Since our first meeting, we quickly realized we have a lot in common. We both like good music (in our opinion), we both like design, photography, Ballard and good beer. We are also both small business owners. Britta is the owner of Queen B Quilts where her specialty is custom quilts made out of old/new t-shirts.

How can she be of use to you? She can take your t shirts that you earned from running all those 5k runs in the past and make them into a quilt of accomplishments. You know they just sit in the closet awaiting the light of day. She can take all your son's/daughter's t shirts from high school and turn them into a Mom/Dad's comfort blanket while they're away at college. She can do much more and I urge you to check out her website and see what she has to offer. Keep in mind, the holidays are just around the corner and custom presents are way cooler than gift cards!

Britta can be contacted at www.myqueenbquilts.com. Make sure to mention you heard about her work from me. It helps her know where she's getting her business from. You can also "like" her Facebook fan page here.

Last month I helped Britta out with some marketing by taking some photos of her and some of her friends enjoying the lovely quilt life. Here is what we turned out from the day.

Proof of Life Reunion!

*Left to right: Andrew, Me and Mike.

Wow. The holidays have been a non stop party for the last two weeks. Eating, drinking, drinking, eating more eating and more drinking. I'm pooped!

However, this season has been one where I was able to spend some quality time with friends and family I rarely see. Last night, my life-long friends Andrew and Mike came over. For those of you who don't know these gents, Andrew is the dude I started making music with 7 years ago. Now, he is a professional engineer based out of LA and works on some of the top hits you hear on the radio. Mike, is a writer and Bar Manager at Greenlake Bar & Grill and a really close friend who lives too close for how little we see each other. Put us three together and you get "Proof of Life". We were a local hip hop trio that used to pack the basement of Temple Billiards. We had a blast making music back in those days. It's been 2 years since we've pissed off my neighbors together for partying too loud. Sorry Erin aka #4, but it was all worth it. We talked, listened to a ton of music, caught up, drank a lot of beer, ordered pizza at 3am and had great time doing it. I probably won't see Andrew for another year which was my main inspiration for taking the above photo. Thanks for a great time brothers. It was a much needed night and one that won't be forgotten.
