I had the pleasure of photographing Jay Inslee's Kickoff Campaign last Saturday at Shoreline Community College. I also had the pleasure of shooting with a borrowed Nikon D3 equipped with a 70-200 2.8 and a 24-70 2.8, courtesy of Jetta Productions. I have to be honest and say that the camera made things pretty easy. I was shooting at 2200 ISO and there wasn't a grain of noise showing up anywhere in the photo. This made shooting in the low lit room a breeze.
I was able to pull Jay outside for about a minute and a half and take a couple of head shots. I really like how the one above turned out. Jay's a pretty photogenic dude.
It was great to see all the different walks of life who support his ideas and aspirations. Below are some of my favorite shots from the event.
Also, I just added some event photography to my portfolio. If you get a chance, click on portfolio and check out the "Events" link. I'm curious to see what y'all think. I've been getting work in this field lately and have a good time shooting it so I figured it's time to start marketing myself in that area. That being said, if you need a photographer to cover any type of event, drop me a line!
