I recently had the pleasure of shooting a look book for my good friend/owner of Paul Marie Clothing, Mike Hedgecock. I have been itching to shoot some fashion lately and really had a great time working with these guys. With inspiration from Nick Onken, we hit the streets of Greenlake and got to work. With the exception of a few shots, I primarily used my Canon 50mm 1.4 which is my new favorite lens for shooting photos. Every shot was tack sharp and the depth of field is amazing at wide apertures. I really feel like I'm getting back to my roots with photography. It was so inspiring to work on the fly and just create. I really had the opportunity to be creative and take chances, break rules and make mistakes while creating images I really liked. This style doesn't work with every client by any means, but Mike was looking for a raw lifestyle look. The mission was to create a scene or a vibe and make the audience associate that good time with the clothing. I really like this approach. When I see cool Nike ads, I want to run. It's not the shoe or shirt itself, it's the athletic model and location and vibe that's portrayed that makes me want to have the same experience. It's all about the experience.
Below is a collection of what we shot and be sure to check out Paul Marie Clothing for some sweet threads. If you have any feedback, please shoot me a comment. I always love hearing from you guys.
Lastly, all these photos we're edited with Visual Supply Co's Film 2 Pack for Lightroom 4.
