With change, there are new gadgets to acquire. With my recent dive into videography, I've found my self in the deep end of a whole new sea of accessories for my camera. My main issue has been getting smooth moving shots. After much research, I've found that the BlackBird can sort of be the one stop shop for a smooth shot. There are a few good steadicams on the market that compete with the BlackBird, but after all my research, the BlackBird seemed to be the best bang for the buck. For about $520, I was able to get the basic set up along with a real nice carrying case. I still need to spend more time with the set up, but after about 30 minutes of messing around, I was able to get a decent balance and shoot some test footage this last weekend.
Here's what I put together of my buddy Jermaine taking a little morning jog. It looks so cinematic! I can't wait to get this thing really dialed in for some video projects!
I present, "Operation BlackBird".
