March 2009 "Photo of the Month"

What a month March was! Epic powder days in the mountains, photo shoots every weekend and a trip to the East Coast! With all that happening it took me longer than usual to decide on my photo of the month. Well here it is! faves-005

This photo was taken at Charles River Esplanade on the Charles River just outside of Back Bay. I had plans of shooting the sunset but didn't really have a clue to where the sun was going to set. Well it chose Cambridge. It just so happened there was a dock that extended off the trail enough so I could get a great landscape shot with no interference.

I took about thirty shots and this one took the prize. I had just been hipped to Graduated Filters by my friend Darien Chin before my trip and I don't think this shot would have turned out the way it did without one. I had so much fun shooting this picture. I love the reflections of the sail poles from the boats and the jet clouds to the left of the picture that resemble little fire flies.
