Recently I was hired by Real Self to shoot a commercial. There was a lot of planning and preproduction involved here. I couldn't believe how long it took us to write a 7 line script! Our goal was to keep it short, provide a little bit of shock and make people want to find out more. There are some CRAZY things going on in the medical field that I had no idea about! When I first met with these guys, I was blown away with what some doctors are doing out there. It was pretty cool to learn all about it.
This was my first crack at having an audio guy (Adam Wygle on the mic) and it wasn't easy getting good sound. Things like the ventilation system which couldn't be turned off really made it hard to get good sound. We did the best we could and overall, I'm pretty damn happy with how it came out.
What do you think? Does the message come through? Do you get what we're trying to say here? Is it too long? Too short? Feedback would be HIGHLY appreciated as this is my first commercial and would really like to know what you think.
